Good times are here for value drinking pensioners like the Owl

A bargain collection from Dan Murphy that's worth considering

The Australian retail wine market is going through a wonderfully competitive period for ordinary wine drinkers. Prices at the major chains for the well made standard products of the big wine making companies are back to where they were five or more years ago. It's a glorious time for the majority of drinkers.
Wines like the Orlando Jacob's Creek Classic range, Rawson's Retreat and Wolf Blass Red labels are freely available at around the $6 a bottle mark. The Owl has tried them all in recent weeks and they certainly get pass marks. There are many wines at $20 or more accompanying his dinner that have been far less enjoyable
