A very competitive wine market

You know the wine market is getting competitive when the industry giants keep offering wines at retailers for $6 a bottle. This week at my Woolworth's BWS it is Wolf Blass with its Eaglehawk chardonnay at $6 a bottle. A fortnight ago it was Jacob's Creek.
Quite pleasant drinking if, like me, you don't mind the taste of a few oak chips in your chardonnay.
It shows the advantage that the major producers get from volume sales. There's no way a small producer could get within dollars of this price for a drink of this quality.

It ranks as an 85 on my value for money scale.
